Plano Senior High School Music Corporation has a long-standing history of excellence and tradition. Since Music Corporation’s inception in the early 1970s, the annual spring show has increased in complexity, pizzazz and polish. In addition, Music Corporation continues to perform to nearly sold-out audiences, as attendance increases with growing reputation each year.
Preparation for the fall show- Jazz without Elephants, and the spring show production, SING, begins long before the actual performance. Auditions for the upcoming Music Corporation are held each spring, immediately after the “SING” show is presented. Prospective members prepare audition material, bios and dance routines in anticipation of the audition, which is rigorous and highly competitive.
The new Music Corporation group begins rehearsing, continuing to prepare through a variety of first and second semester seasonal performances. By winter break, the members of Music Corporation have progressed from a collection of individual talents to a closely-knit ensemble. From January to the show in the late spring, the group has a demanding rehearsal schedule. In February, planning and preparation for lighting, orchestration, videography, sound, choreography, costumes, programs, décor, publicity and ticket sales begins, continuing up to the week of the show. Through the efforts of the ensemble, their directors, skilled professionals, and dedicated parent volunteers, the shows comes to life!
All Music Corporation performers are Plano Senior High School choir students. The seniors and juniors comprising Music Corporation are a very talented group of vocal musicians- truly some of the best of Plano Senior High School.
